For the past 4 years Simone, Carole and Walter have been bringing you a unique experience of doing yoga in a very unique, peaceful setting. The Calder House allows yoga and nature to come together. You will here bird songs, leaves rustling in the wind, chimes, and water trickling in the background. A beautiful experience awaits to open and liven up all of your senses.
Discover as you breathe and practice, with stretches, postures and meditation; becoming present and turning within...and then bring this awareness to the appreciation of chocolate or fruit or wine. Savour the textures, colours, tastes, and bouquets, while gaining a new appreciation for the moment and for life!
Join Simone Morin, from Earth and Spirit (yoga instructor), Walter Andrejowich (appreciation facilitator), and Carole Tetreault, (host/owner of the Calder House Bed and Breakfast), for an evening of yoga and appreciation.

For the purpose of this blog I should state that "God" represents all Gods no matter what faith or religion you adhere to. Some refer to God as Prana, Chi, Ki, Universal Energy, and Source.
We spend most of our lives talking to "God". "God" this, "God" that, why did you let this happen, why did you let that happen? Why didn't you help me? Why didn't you save my friend? On and on we talk, natter, complain to "God". Many of us feel that our questions go unanswered.
Let me ask you this. Have you ever truly "listened" to "God"? This is not something we are taught to do. We learn prayer, but what are we doing in this? Are we asking for help, forgiveness, money, and health? Are we telling "God" all of our problems? Do we ever give "God" a chance to answer?
So how do we learn to "listen" to God? It's simple. It's called "Meditation". Our higher selves; "God" is within us, around us, is us, and in order to connect with "God" one must learn to listen. This can be done through learning the power of meditation. Only when we can truly quiet the mind, learn to focus on breath can we connect with our "higher selves", "God".
There is a wonderful organization called the Art of Living (a non profit organization who's focus is to bring healing to our world). Art of Living (AOL) has a group of volunteers who teach meditation, yoga, Ayurveda and so much more in a 152 countries. Their Art of Breathing Meditation Course known as the Sudarshan Kriya is an introductory level meditation course and is offered in Winnipeg and Steinbach. This course teaches you to quiet the mind by learning to breath. It's benefits are amazing, and yes you'll be able to listen to "God".
The degree to which stress unduly influences our lives is generally underestimated: Often the mind clings on to anger, guilt, or regret about the past, or is plagued by anxiety and worry about the future. This oscillation of the mind causes tension and stress both for ourselves and for the people around us and leads to reduced effectiveness in action. Breath is the link between body and mind, and thus is the key to handling our mind and negative emotions, and releasing our true potential - at work, at home, and at leisure.

Have you ever noticed that when you enter a space your body goes into a "relaxed" or "anxious" state? Have you ever thought "how can that be", or "did I just imagine that feeling"?
The Chinese believe that our human physical, mental and emotional bodies react to our environment; where energy called "chi" flows.
This knowledge is called Feng Shui. What Is Feng Shui? Feng Shui (or Wind and Water) is the practice of arranging your environment so that energy or “chi” flows gently and smoothly through your home or business environment. In this way your space just feels good–and supports what you want out of life-whether it’s a better career, new romance, improved health, or more income.
Not too fast or too slow—just right! Feng Shui is based on the concept that everything in your environment has a life force or energy called “chi.”
Just as chi flows through your body, chi also flows your through living environment. When the energy flow is stagnant (think clutter and overflowing closets), moves too quickly (think long dark hallways, stairs, and straight shots through the home), or is obstructed (think walls, trees, or even cars in the wrong place), the unbalanced chi may lead to ill health, domestic strife, or financial concerns.
Feng Shui adjustments can help you make sure that the chi energy flow is just right so that everything in your environment supports your wish for good luck, good health, harmonious relationships, and prosperity.
Carole Tetreault the owner of Calder House B&B offers a very basic course to introduce you to this concept. Carole has been practicing Feng Shui in her home and landscape for 10 years. She is self taught and loves to play with energy. Her next class is being offered in April. Check the "Events" page for details.
Feng Shui is not a meditation practice, a religion, or a New Age cult.
a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress and, if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom” or the “Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy.” So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self–improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
This degree involves permanent attunements to the Reiki Ray. Once initiated, it allows a person to channel Reiki energy for healing oneself and others. It requires no special invocation or alteration of the thinking process to “turn on” the flow of Reiki. By simply placing hands on and opening the heart to love, one automatically brings in the energy. Certificate is available upon completion.

LEARN to read the Tarot Cards.
This 10 hour course covers The Major and Minor Arcana and the 'Fool's Journey" which is basically a map of the journey every person takes in their life, similar to philosopher Joseph Campbell's archetypal "Heroes Journey" where everyone (who is a hero or fool in their own life) learns lessons as they go along. In the Tarot, the Major Arcana marks the passages of this journey, which is reflected in the cards that are drawn for the individual at any and every moment in their life. YOU will learn the chronological and developmental stages of this journey, which is really never ending until we die. YOU will learn different ways to assimilate card meanings without the use of memory. This will involve Tarot card dream incubation, and meditation among other things. YOU will also learn the 3 modalities of reading Tarot; Symbolism, Color, and Number meanings. At the end of the course YOU will know how to do 1, 3 and 5 card readings, general, past, present, future, mind, body, spirit, and yes/no readings. You will learn to read comment cards and learn little tricks to understand the message of the cards more clearly. There will also be practice amongst yourselves where you will be able to lay your foundation and measure your improvement.
